I have had several requests over the last year for henna workshops and hints and tips on henna. I have also found that people enjoy the process of watching designs unfold as much as they like to wear them so with that in mind I have started making some henna clips for you all to enjoy on youtube.
I have had a batch of old henna in the freezer for a while which is not staining as well as it should so I have saved it for practice.......it always seemed wrong to throw it away....but then I am a bit odd (grins)
If you find inspiration from them then that would make me smile, if they help you learn how designs are broken down and how they evolve then do let me know, feedback, questions and comments are VERY welcomed. You can find my youtube channel HERE do click on subscribe if you like what you see!
I started doing henna tattoos in 2004 when I was working as a face painter and it has taken me this long to really feel confident enough in my henna to really push it forward. If you are new to it then I would say regular practice is the key to honing your skills, you can mix up icing to the right consistancy to practice with using the same kind of cone as you use for henna......I would cry if I was using real henna (....see....odd person!!) I find my friends are always happy for me to practice on them (you know who you are!!) so I am not short of a hand or two to decorate but you can also draw round your hand on a piece of paper and Ta-Da....willing victim that sits still ;-)
I will update my blog with links to future videos, these are the ones that I have added so far, they are all freehand designs so I have blanked out the sound to spare you the sound of the rusty cogs of my braincell trying to decide where to go next
